Handpoint Maintenance

Course Aims

To provide delegates with the underpinning knowledge and skills to repair and maintain hand point switch lever boxes.

Learning Objectives

• Understand the relevant legislation

• Know the PPE requirements

• Be able to identify different types of lever boxes

• Be able to identify the component parts

• Know the relevant maintenance procedures

• Be able to undertake maintenance of lever boxes

• Know the relevant repair procedures

• Be able to undertake repairs of lever box components

PPE Requirements

This course requires the delegate to be on or near the running line and therefore, they MUST be in possession of:-
• Valid P.T.S. Card
• Protective “all orange” High Visibility Clothing to ISO 20471
• Safety Footwear to BS EN ISO 20345
• Safety Helmet (white/blue) to BS EN 397
• General Purpose Gloves to BS EN388
• Safety Glasses BS EN166 and of Optical Class 1 with Impact Resistance F

Certification

A Certificate of Training will be awarded to the delegate upon successful completion of the course. Certification has no expiry. Continued assessments must take place in accordance with industry and legislative requirements for competence management.
